Dr Debra Malpass, Head of Research and Analysis
In her role as Head of Research and Analysis, Debra has pioneered the use of behavioural insights, randomised controlled trials and data science techniques (such as artificial intelligence) in the development of the SRA’s regulatory policy. Previously a behavioural scientist at universities in the UK and USA, she has also worked at an exam board designing qualifications and setting the grades for GCSEs and A-levels. She has been closely involved in helping to develop the new Solicitors Qualification Examination.
David Bish, Behavioural Insights Analyst, SRA
David leads Behavioural Insights research at the Solicitors Regulation Authority and focuses on consumer and firm behaviour in the legal services market. This work informs our regulatory policy and operations by applying ideas from the field of behavioural economics and providing robust evidence through experimental trials.
David holds a degree in Economics and was awarded a Santander Masters Scholarship to complete an MSc in Behavioural Science from the University of Stirling.
