Rachel joined the SRA in 2009 and is a Regulatory Manager in the Thematic Team. She has been involved in leading several recent thematic projects, including cybercrime and Dubious investments. The Thematic team identify and respond to risks within the legal sector by visiting practices of all types and sizes across England and Wales and producing a thematic report on their findings. Prior to this, Rachel was a Regulatory Technical Adviser to the Authorisation Directorate, providing case direction on a range of firm and individual applications, guidance on our regulations and statute, and delivering training. Rachel began her career at the SRA as an Investigation Officer, investigating serious and complex reports of misconduct and inspecting firms.
Since joining the Law Society Group in May 2003, Jatinderpal has played a key role in developing the SRA's approach to outcomes-focused regulation and the supervision of firms. Jatinderpal has led on the SRA's approach to monitoring the ban on referral fees in personal injury and the regulation of financial services. Of late, his work has focused on the SRA's Accounts Rules and Client Protection arrangements and improving the SRA's engagement with small firms.
